6 Best Kid-Friendly Breweries in Los Angeles
We’ve all been drinking way too long in our homes, so now that the pandemic is mostly behind us, it’s time to take your six-pack to the streets. Here are the 6 best kid-friendly breweries in Los Angeles; because why hire a sitter when the kids are as welcome as you are?
Paperback Brewing Company (Glendale)
Paperback Brewing Company has a semi-permanent food truck parked in front, so with food always available, the kids can come too! This place is so cozy that I spotted some singles in their upper deck camped out with a laptop and a brew; why should coffee shops have all the fun?
Tables are first come, first served inside, and you order everything at the bar or the food truck. Personally, for the little ones, I like the outdoor space best, which is even decked out with a kids’ table and some coffee table-style nooks that are perfect for having a toddler walking around. Just be sure to keep that beer away from little hands :).
The selection of beers on tap changes often, but One Night with Nora, a blonde ale with a touch of honey, is a personal favorite.
The Pub at Golden Road Brewery (Glendale)
This is one of the best kid and dog-friendly spaces because they have an expansive dine-in menu, so you don’t even have to feel guilty for having your kiddos in a bar. They even have a designated play area for your children with two or four legs, and it’s all spread out with an indoor/outdoor flow.
Lawless Brewing Company (NoHo)
This one is relatively new on the scene, turning 2 in 2023, but their taproom is on point for family fun, and the dogs are always welcome too. They have a rotating schedule for food trucks and events, so check the website before you visit. They also open up earlier in the day, beginning at 2 p.m. Thursday instead of the usual Saturday, so this is your spot if you’re vibing to start your weekend a little ahead of schedule.
Some of their early hits include a Brosé All Day hibiscus beer (ABV: 5.9%) and a Soft Focus IPA with hints of grapefruit, pineapple, and blueberry (ABV: 7%).
Boomtown Brewery (DTLA)
This brewery is open seven days a week for kids and dogs until 8 p.m. when it becomes 21 and over. They’ve even got games and non-alcoholic drinks available for your little ones at just $2 a pop. For adults, I recommend sipping on their Bad Hombre Mexican-style brew, if only for the can alone. If you’re interested in food, you’ll love their ever-changing schedule of food trucks.
Frogtown Brewery (NELA)
This brewery is located in the little strip of land in Northeast Los Angeles by the L.A. river known as Frogtown. The taproom welcomes both families and dogs, but it can get loud and crowded on the weekends. Frogtown Brewery is known for its craft beers like the classic Kinky Blonde Ale.
The Stalking Horse Brewery (Rancho Park/West LA)
This brewery is so kid-friendly that they even have their own menu during brunch! But you will have to have your kids sit down for this one. The food is British-pub centric, so you’ll enjoy tasty treats like Sausage Rolls and Fish and Chips.
Enjoy beers on tap like their Shark Sandwich ESB (ABV 5.5%), or pick up a Crowler if you’d like to enjoy at home as well.
This is the second blog I’ve seen listing Frogtown brewery on the water. It’s like a block off the river and has no river views whatsoever. The music is also reallllly loud for kids and it’s always a packed patio with a ton of dogs. Good for stroller babies but probably not for running toddlers.
