A Weekend Spent in Summer Restaurant Week

July 15th-July 26th marks a fabulous 11 days in the life of a LA foodie–where thanks to DineLA  you can have dinner at Drago for the price of Dennys!

While I wish I could eat out all 11 days, here’s a sampling lunch and dinner had on a weekend-coincidentally both at hotels.

Saturday Night Dinner: The Bazaar by José Andrés

The best part of Restaurant Week is being able to have a full meal at a restaurant you might not be able to afford. $45 dollars at The Bazaar for 4 courses seemed like a steal, until we realized that most of the tapas we were ordering hovered around the $9 range without Dinela prices. It was still a great meal though and here are some of the dishes I would return to have full portions of!

American Sturgeon Caviar Cone—could certainly have eaten more than one!!

Philly Cheesesteak-consisting of air bread, chedder, and wagyu beef—a bit overrated in my opinion, but a nice photo-op

Embutidos Platter-a safe bet at a restaurant known for Serrano

Papas Canarias-perfectly cooked starch!

Seared Paso Prime Striploin

Wagyu Beef and Pork Chorizo—Thanks to the Disco lighting I didn’t realize I was eating this until it was gone…but it was delicious 🙂wagyu

My flan desert was visually stimulating but I would rather have ordered one more plate of tapas instead.

The Bazaar is located in the SLS Hotel on La Cienega—so be ready to shell out for valet, which is the price of a cocktail!

Sunday Afternoon Lunch: The Rooftop by Gordon Ramsay at The London

What makes for a perfect Sunday afternoon? A 3 course lunch for $25 dollars on a rooftop with a view of West Hollywood and a pitcher of Stella Artois!

beer

Lobster Roll—left me longing for a whole Sammy!

Hanger Steak—worth paying $25 for this alone. Delicious steak and at grown up portions. My only complaint is the butter knife I was given to cut it with, but given the proximity to the pool I can let it slide.

Sticky Toffee Pudding–officially one of the top 10 deserts of my life and most certainly the best Sticky Toffee Pudding in the city.

Restaurant week is over in 3 days, so if you haven’t ventured out yet then get yourself to Opentable!

Need an excuse to eat out?— celebrate the birth of baby Cambridge with a Sticky Toffee Pudding…you’ll feel like a king!
