Uplevel your Entertainment in 2022
Let’s face it, in our modern age, the best place to watch or play anything is probably your house. So the competition when you’re going out is STEEP! Discover the best entertainment in Los Angeles when you uplevel the way you experience movies, sports, and gaming.
Watch Better Sports
Second only to seeing the L.A. Rams live is watching them in a 360-viewing experience at Tom’s Watch Bar at L.A. Live.
Experience“Eatertainment”
Tom Ryan, co-founder of Tom’s Watch Bar has created a next-level sports-watching experience for some of the best entertainment in Los Angeles that includes 155 TVs and a giant “Megatron” screen that covers two stories of the restaurant space. Best of all you can get sound for every game right at your table through the Tunity App. You can also call your server to the table with a touch of a button and cash out or split checks using the tablet at your table.
The entire space feels like a Vegas sportsbook so even if you’re there just for the food, you can’t help cheer along with the sports lovers around you.
What to Eat
Tom’s Watch Bar features all the usual fried game food suspects like Deep Dish Nachos; Premium Burgers; Pizzas; Wings; and Signature Tacos. You can also indulge your healthy side with something from the Greens section like the Arugula, Pistachio, and Lemon Salad.
My personal favorites include the Lobster and Shrimp Mac N Cheese ($10.50/$22) and the Crispy Chicken and Cornbread Pancake which is a cornbread pancake topped with batter-fried chicken and salted caramel butter and maple syrup ($16.50). How did such a dish come into existence you’re wondering?? Well, Tom Ryan is actually also the creator of the McGriddle 🙂
What to Drink
This is a beer lover’s paradise with specialty two-handed-40-ounce beer steins and an entire U-Pour Floor with 50 different beers on tap as well as cocktails and wines.
Open during L.A. Live Events, the U-Pour Floor lets you taste anything on tap in any size with just a tap of a pre-paid card. You also get a great view of the crowd below.
If beer isn’t your bag, there’s also a full bar and Bottomless Mimosas available every day until 2 p.m ($18).

Best Time to Visit
Outside of when your favorite team is playing, which can be confirmed using the Real Time Watch Calendar, I recommend going during Happy Hour or when there’s an L.A. Live Event (for the U-Pour Floor access).
Happy Hour takes place Monday to Friday from 2 to 5 p.m. or weekends from 11 p.m. to midnight. Happy Hour features 50% anything that pours and a range of bites for $5 to $10.
Tom’s Watch Bar is open every day from 11 a.m. to midnight.
Watch Better Movies
I might be among the dying breed of people that still enjoys going to the movies, but if you’re among the majority that just wants to stay home with your large and small screens, then LOOK Dine-in Theaters knows what you are after.
LOOK Dine-in has just taken over the Studio Movie Grill in Glendale, according to Daily News which is proof that post-pandemic people still want to get out and see movies the way they were intended. The scheduled reopening date is August 2021. Here’s what you can expect when you go:
Make it Night Out
The golden age of movies used to be about dressing up to experience the magic of the cinema. LOOK Dine-in is bringing that charm back with an evening of some of the best entertainment in Los Angeles that begins before you hit the seats. The Glendale location features a restaurant and bar downstairs, and then a lounge area right before you enter the screening rooms.
Feels like a Night In
Prefer to have your cocktail in the seats? LOOK Dine-in has a full food and drink menu available from the comfort of your recliner! Just press the button and a stealthy server will be with you anytime during the film.
You’ll feel just like you’re seated in your favorite chair, only it has heating and cooling options and comes with extra cupholders.
Menu options range from Popcorn with butter ($4-$7) all the way to Coconut Chicken + Shrimp and Kabobs ($15).
Best time to Visit
Visit during Happy Hour and get discounted drinks before you enter the theater. Just think of all the money you’ll save on the babysitter now that you’re combining dinner and a movie.
Play Better Games
Why should kids have all the fun? Barcade is betting that we adults need to let loose every once in a while too!
Barcade calls itself, “The original arcade bar”, and offers over 70 classic arcade games as well as pinball. Kicking it up a notch from your childhood though they’ve added a food menu and beers on tap.
The Highland Park location is open from 5 p.m. on and as early as noon on weekends!
Toddler Tip: Every first Sunday of the month the Highland Park location allows kids from 12-5 p.m. Sure beats Chuck E. Cheese!
