Eat like you’ve won something!
The Emmy’s are this weekend but just because you’re not nominated doesn’t mean you can’t eat like you’ve won something!
Katsuya L.A. Live
There’s nothing more satisfying than ordering something off a secret menu, especially when it’s covered in gold and caviar! The 24k tartare dish from Katsuya L.A. live is crafted with with toro tartare with truffle nikiri soy alongside Hudson Valley foie gras and topped with caviar and 24K gold leaf. All together that is one award winning dish for just $30.
Church & State
For the next two weeks you can party like it’s 2008 at Church & State in DTLA. Chef Tony Esnault and Restaurateur Yassmin Sarmadi are celebrating their 9 year anniversary by offering a very special Classic Dinner Menu with even more special 2008 pricing. Begin with Le Cachat; herbed goat cheese, lavender, and, honey on a toasted baguette ($8) before diving into one of their essential dishes like Poulet à la Bourgeoise; chicken with fingerling potato, carrot, bacon, and jus ($21) or a Boeuf Bourguignon beef stew with pearl onion and mushroom ($24). As always their Happy Hour will also be available from 5:30 PM-7 PM.
SOCA
Your new destination for Sunday supper is here! Launched just this past Sunday, SOCA in Sherman Oaks from Chef Aaron Robins will be offering a three-course prix-fixe menu ($36) alongside half-price select bottles of wine every week from from 5:30 PM-10 PM. Menu items include Herb-Roasted Half Chicken with chimichurri roasted potatoes; as well as a Petite New York Steak dressed in sautéed wild mushroom demi-glace.
Tallula’s
Also brand new this week, Santa Monica Canyon’s favorite new Mexican restaurant Tallula’s is debuting their Happy Hour. Helmed by chef Jeremy Fox of Rustic Canyon, you can treat yourself to some awesome discounted munchies and drinks Monday-Friday from 4-6 PM in the bar, lounge, and patio area. My perfect meal suggestion? An order of Nachos “Sencillo” ($7) paired with a spicy Tallula’s Margarita ($8/glass or $30/pitcher).
Baked Goods for a Good Cause
Eat sweets and be sweet this Saturday September 16th from 9 AM-11 AM at a special Zoe Nathan’s Bake & Gather Series for Hurricane Irma & Harvey relief.
