Here’s Everything You Need to be Doing in June in Los Angeles
Summer is so close you can almost taste it and this city knows it! Here’s everything you need to be doing in June in Los Angeles to get those vacation-mode feels. The first official day of summer is June 20th, 2024.

Pride Month (All June Long)
Love is love all month long, but these are the events you just don’t want to miss:
- WeHo Pride Weekend is May 31st to June 2nd in the West Hollywood Park area, with a Music and Street Festival. It culminates with a Pride Parade on June 2nd at Noon along Santa Monica Blvd.
- There’s a Rooftop Pride Party on June 1st at the Andaz West Hollywood. Guests have free admission, and it’s $20 for non-guests. It pays to stay with the code PRIDE during West Hollywood Pride Weekend from May 31st to June 2nd for freebies, or use this link to purchase tickets. Additional parties happen on June 8th and 9th as well.
- Also, on June 1st, there’s a Rooftop party at Cabra at 2 p.m. $12 gets your Entry and Passed Bites, while $39 gets you 2 Drinks and Passed Bites.
- June 2nd is the first of a weekly Drag Queen Sunday Brunch happening all summer long on the I|O Rooftop at The Godfrey Hotel Hollywood beginning at 11 a.m. Get your FREE tickets on Tock. There is a 2 Drink Minimum.
- L.A. Pride in the Park in DTLA is on June 8th with Ricky Martin and a Parade on June 9th. Tickets are required and selling fast!
- The Pride Village Street Festival is going on June 9th in Hollywood to coincide with the L.A. Pride Parade from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Expect Food Trucks, Vendors, a Film Festival, and more! The event is free to attend. It’s taking place between Vine and Gower Street.
- Pride Night at Dodger Stadium is June 14th. The event begins at 5:10 p.m. with a Live DJ and Drink Specials. Get your tickets here for the 7:10 p.m. game against the Royals, or purchase the Pride Pack to get a FREE Jersey here.

Foodie Pop-ups (Various Days in June)
These are the delicious events you don’t want to miss in June:
- June 2nd: Restaurant Slutty Vegan will be in Los Angeles at 4326 Crenshaw Blvd from 2 to 8 p.m. This Atlanta brand is backed by big names like Shake Shack, and owner Pinky Cole Hayes will be in attendance.
- June 4th: Barra Santos is slinging Grilled Sardines and more Portugese delights at Found Oyster beginning at 4 p.m.
- June 6th: Brooklyn Kura Sake will be pouring at Tsubaki in Echo Park during dinner service. There are no special tickets, but there will be specialty dishes like Pastrami Yakisoba with Housemade Brisket and Housemade Sauerkraut. Reservations are encouraged.
- June 7th to 9th: De Soi x Ggiata’s Italian Weekend. All locations will offer a Complimentary Spritz Italiano from non-alcoholic brand De Soi with the purchase of Ggiata’s Classic Italian sub via Postmates.
- June 8th and 9th: It’s EEEEEatscon, a Food Festival like no other with some of the best foodie names in the city. Get more information here. Tickets are $30, but that doesn’t include food – which cuts down on waste.
- June 9th: Taste of Paso Robles: Jada Vineyard from 6 to 8 p.m. at The San Antonio Winery. Tickets are just $50 on Tock.
- All of June: The Pizza of the Month at Shins Pizza near Dodger Stadium is Calabrian Chile Pizza. It’s $5 a Slice or $38 for a Whole East Coast-style Pie.
Visit the LA Wine Fest (June 1st and 2nd)
Grab your cup to booze it up at the LAWineFest in Long Beach. There are two days of unlimited wine tastings, craft beer pours, food tastings, and more! General admission begins at $100.
Eat Outside during Smorgasburg LA (Sundays in June)
Happening on the weekly at Row DTLA is the outdoor food festival known as Smorgasburg. It’s a great opportunity to try the hottest mobile restaurants in Los Angeles, which often make up some of the best bites. Hours are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, June 2nd is Hollywood Bowl Day, featuring “bowl” themed vendors that are perfect for picnics.
Rosé Month (Pouring all June)
Although National Rosé Day is technically on June 8th, L.A. is celebrating all month long:
- Saturday, June 1st, kicks off Rosé Month at Shutters on the Beach in Santa Monica. They will be offering Complimentary Cocktails made with St-Germain Jardin, along with Bouquet Making and a Live DJ.
- The 2nd annual “Rosé on Rose” Wine Fest returns to Venice’s Rose Av. on National Rosé Day, Saturday, June 8. Tickets begin at $20, and the event begins at Noon.
- Nearby at The Cooks Garden on Abbot Kinney Blvd, you can sample Non-Alcoholic Rosé from the NoAlchCo from 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.
- Head to King Gillette Ranch in Calabasas to tipple Rosé among the rolling hills for Rosé Day LA on June 8th. Tickets begin at $165, and that includes an open bar. The event goes from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Get your tickets here.
Take in the Concerts at The Hollywood Bowl (All June Long)
Festivities at The Hollywood Bowl begin June 8th, with The Mariachi USA Festival at 6 p.m. If Jazz is more your style, don’t miss the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Festival on June 15th and 16th. Get tickets as low as $29 with this link. Get more information on the whole season here.

Enjoy Free Concerts on the Plaza (Thursdays in June)
Summer is in full swing at The Original Farmers Market in mid-city with Summer Sounds on the Plaza. It takes place Thursdays until August 29th (except July 4th) when you can enjoy music from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Best of all, it’s FREE! June 13th features a Queen Tribute Band at 6:30 p.m. for Pride Month.
Indulge on National Doughnut Day (June 7th)
Check out this National Doughnut Day post, which highlights all the FREE Doughnuts available to you. The usual suspects include Krispy Kreme, Dunkin’, and DK’s Donuts.
Attend First Fridays at the Natural History Museum (June 7th)
Party with the dinosaurs after dark during the First Fridays event at the Natural History Museum. This month’s theme is How we Multiply and it includes live music, signature cocktails, and curated family fun.

Enjoy Free Jazz Fridays at LACMA (Fridays in June)
Sway to the sounds of FREE Jazz every Friday in June, and continuing through November, on the plaza of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art beginning at 6 p.m. Check the calendar to confirm who’s playing.
Friday Wine Tastings at Barnsdal Art Park (All Summer Long)
This beloved event is back in Hollywood at the gorgeous Barnsdal Art Park, which is home to the Hollyhock House by Frank Lloyd Wright from May 31st to August 30th, 2024. Tickets are available here and the event runs from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. It’s 21-and-over only.
Get Immersed in these Experiences (Ongoing June)
Immersive events are still all the rage and offer an over-the-top way to experience your favorite things. Below are three that are perfect for family fun:
- Accidentally Wes Anderson is on at the Santa Monica Art Museum after an amazing run in Tokyo, Seoul, and London. The immersive exhibit is like stepping into a surrealist short film, and you are the star. Timed tickets begin at $18.
- The Messi Experience: A Dream Come True begins on June 14th and features an in-depth look at what makes a legendary soccer player.
Enjoy Movies Outdoors (Ongoing June)
Participate in some of these food+film screenings where it really starts to feel like summer.
- Cinespia is your home for cemetery film screenings under the stars at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Celebrate Father’s Day (June 16th)

Toast to National Martini Day (June 19th)
Probably my favorite of the boozy holidays, enjoy today kicking back with the most classic of cocktails: The Martini!
- Musso & Frank’s in Hollywood has been open since prohibition, and they’ve been serving Martinis, stirred never shaken, since the 1920s, always with a sidecar that keeps them at the perfect temperature.
- Checker Hall, located in Highland Park, serves Mediterranean-inspired dishes and a Dirty Little Secret that will last you all night.
- The Provence Martini at Camphor in DTLA is also one of my favorites.
Take Free Dance Lessons (June 21st, June 28th, and Beyond)
The Music Center’s Dance DTLA is back with free dance lessons every Friday night from 7 to 11 p.m. at the Jerry Moss Plaza. It kicks off June 21st with Bollywood, and it’s great for all ages and levels. Get more information on all the events here.
Attend a Garden Party (June 22nd)
Celebrate the seasons at The Norton Simon Museum’s Annual Garden Party in Pasadena, taking place in the Monet-inspired garden from 4 to 6:30 p.m. Expect live jazz music and a chance to sketch or create floral ornaments. The event is free with your museum purchase.
Enjoy the Garagiste Wine Festival (June 22nd)
Enjoy 40 Wineries Under-the-Radar Grapes at The Garagiste Festival: Urban Exposure on Saturday, June 22nd at the Glendale Civic Auditorium beginning at 1 p.m. Get your tickets here beginning at $79.
Slice it Up at the California Watermelon Festival (June 22nd and 23rd)
When an event has a mascot named Wedgie, you know you’re in for a good time. Head to Hansen Dam in the San Fernando Valley for all things watermelon during the California Watermelon Festival.
This family-fun event runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on both days and features All-you-can-eat Watermelon, Live-Music, Carnival Games, a Beer Tent, and more. Get more details on the website, plus purchase your tickets ($16 for adults and $14 for kids over 3).
