Fun at Dodgers Stadium for the non-sports fan!
This past weekend I finally made my way to a Dodgers Game. The reason it took me 6 years to get here is because of my lack of sports enthusiasm, but that shouldn’t hold anyone else back. Here are some fun things to do at Dodgers Stadium if the last thing you want to do is watch the game.
- Check out the View! Dodger Stadium feels like it’s the peak of Los Angeles and is located in the Chavez Ravine. After you get off the freeway you are force led to the stadium location and it’s very affordable parking ($10).
- Have a Dodger Dog, or a Doyer Dog, or a picante dog, or a veggie dog! I had a $5 dollar Dodger Dog to keep it classic, but if you’re feeling adventurous I recommend the Doyer Dog. It’s a beef frank loaded up with nacho cheese, jalapeños, chopped tomatoes and onions but be ready—it’s twice the weight of the Dodger Dog. I also enjoyed the machines churning out raw onions and relish.
- Wet your whistle with a giant cerveza! The park has a surprising amount of international and traditional beers on tap. I started with a Shock Top served with an orange slice, and then graduated to a Michelob Ultra (twice the beer and only half the wallet sting)
- Still hungry? Dodger Stadium offers some healthy alternatives including edamame and sushi rolls. Or if you want to sweeten your palate after that hot dog, try some kettle corn. It’s not made on site, but is still delicious, and comes in a fun cone.
Make sure you get your tickets on stub-hub. My soon to be hubby found these fab seats where we were practically on the field, but still in the shade. Plus it was only about 20 dollars each.
I’m not sure who won because we didn’t stay until the end, but it was a great day at the ballpark and I’ve never felt so American!
Go Doyers!
You are SOOO cute! I’m officially inspired to go to Dodgers Stadium and eat a veggie dog! ; )
