Let the Vacation Begin!
Rental Car
Lets face it, LA is not a city where you want to rely on public transportation and it’s all about the car you drive. If you want to really feel like an Angeleno, then I recommend getting a ride with style like an Audi from Silvercar.
When you land at LAX your own personal driver from Lyft will be waiting to take you to pick out your silver Audi A4, Q5, or Cabriolet. Everything is done with your smartphone so you don’t have to wait in lines or get roped in to pricey add ons. A Silvercar concierge sets you up with bottled water while explaining all the fab features that come with your rental like XM radio, wifi, navigation, and more. And the price…well lets just say Budget Rent a Car might just have a run for their money!
Park your Own Ride
While the hotel offers valet parking, if you’re looking to save a little dough on long-term parking near LAX, I urge you to try ParkFellows!
They find unused parking spots at airports around the world and offer them to consumers for as little as $10 a day! That’s about four times less than regular parking around LAX.
Insider Tip: Book early with ParkFellows to get the best deal!
Now, on to the Hyatt Regency LAX
The Hyatt Regency LAX is waiting to welcome you with smiles and fruit-infused water while they rest your new ride in the valet for a while.
Once you enter the expansive lobby, check in is a breeze including a special desk for airline staff and World of Hyatt Club members. This just goes to show you that everyone is a special guest when you’re at the Hyatt Regency LAX. Taking it one step further, guests can even choose to pre-check in prior to arrival so all that’s left is to grab your key and go!
All of the 580 rooms on the property are suite categories and its home to the largest presidential suite in the area! Each room features sleek mid-century modern inspired decor along with amenities like bottled water, Starbucks coffee, mini-fridge, complimentary wifi, and more! Plus the rooms are so soundproof that the only giveaway that you are near the airport is the occasional jumbo jet sighting. Major bonus when you’re traveling with kids!
The biggest piece of travel advice I can give?
When booking your room, splurge for the Regency Club Access. The price ranges depending on availability but for just as little as $30 a night you can eat and drink for free all day!!
A hot breakfast spread is available in the morning from 6-10 AM, followed by snacks in the afternoon from 12-5 PM, and evening service from 5-8 PM. Beer, wine, and cocktails do have an additional fee, but nothing is over $5!
Still hungry?
That being said, if you’d like a little something more substantial to eat, there are three different dining options and three distinct menus to choose from between the unity la Restaurant, Marketplace, and Bar.
Grab and go savories and sweets are available 24 hours a day from the Marketplace, which is also a great place to pick up a bottle of wine or some specialty gifts.
Breakfast and dinner can be found at unity la Restaurant, and for a casual lunch or drinks, it’s all about the unity la bar.
Must have menu items at the unity la bar include the Unity Ramen ($12); Carne Asada Tacos from Boyle Heights ($14); Fish Tacos from Santa Monica ($12); and some supreme local draught beer or cocktail concoctions.
Plan a night out!
For something a little more decadent, dinner at unity la restaurant is perfect place to taste the city without even leaving the property. Begin your meal with a Scallops and Papaya salad featuring Togarashi dusted sea scallops, green papaya, and pickled Thai chiles ($18). Next it’s on to Starters like Charred Korean Sticky Ribs ($14) which are refreshingly not messy and a grilled Shrimp Ceviche Tostada ($14).Unity la just might be cementing themselves as the world cup of restaurants as there are few places outside a line of food trucks where you can taste the world this way.
The Entrée menu offers jaw-dropping portion sizes of deliciously fresh dishes like Grilled Skuna Bay Salmon ($29); Chili Braised Beef Short Rib ($34); Drunken Noodles with crispy tofu, Chinese broccoli, Thai basil and dark sauce ($22); and a Wild Baja Striped Bass served over braised cannellini beans and walnut pesto ($32).
Baby Bonus: The steak off the kids menu is less than $9 and comes with steamed vegetables, or in our case french fries. If your kiddo can eat a portion this size then move over Joey Chestnut! For the rest of us you will be finishing off your child’s steak for a fifth of the price of the adult version.
Ready to work off all those drunken noodles?
Head to the penthouse level to sweat it out at The StayFit™ Gym at Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport that’s chock full of high tech equipment. Not sure why but there’s something very motivational about running on a treadmill while watching planes reach their final destination.
You could also swim a few laps in the largest heated outdoor pool in the area that’s flanked by first-come-first-serve cabanas and two event lawns. Plus as opposed to most hotels that discourage pool gear, the Hyatt Regency LAX offers oodles of free pool noodles, along with games like ping pong and a bean bag toss.
Is your visit a mixture of business and pleasure? How about a few cartwheels in a 14,000 square foot meeting space!! They offer over 52,000 square feet in total including a penthouse panorama ballroom. These are the kind of conference spaces that make a girl want to join the corporate world or plan another wedding!
No matter what brings you to the Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport, there is a place for everyone here. Book your stay on Expedia to secure the best Price.
