Last Minute Thanksgiving in Los Angeles
No plans for Thanksgiving yet? Here’s my list of the best places in Los Angeles to make your holiday anything but traditional.
GOING OUT
If Thanksgiving for you means gratitude for the annual Beaujolais Nouveau reveal, then celebrate this American holiday in Paris. Enjoy a 3-course menu for $48 dollars with menu highlights such as Pumpkin velouté and Roast Turkey roulade with Duck Foie Gras sauce from Chef’s Grellier Baptiste & Jeremie Cazes. Open from 11 AM-10 PM.
Nothing is more American than the all-you-can-eat buffet and for $45 (excluding tax, beverages, and gratuity), you can enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving with a signature Terrine twist from Chef Morningstar. Open from Noon-9 PM.
If you have family in town and want to share a taste of old Hollywood, head to the Roosevelt Hotel for a 3-course meal with sides priced at $55 for adults and $25 for children. Menu highlights include pumpkin panzanella with brioche crouton and an array of modernistic holiday desserts like pumpkin cheesecake and a plum tart with eggnog ice cream. Open from 1-8 PM.
Looking to pardon the turkey this year? Then join vegan chef Tal Ronnen for a 4-course Thanksgiving lunch for $75 a person. The forest-to-table menu includes dishes such as a butternut squash bisque to start and a rosemary & hazelnut scaloppini with a cranberry cabernet sauce in place of your tofurky. Open for lunch from Noon-5 PM.
For a slightly more decadent thanksgiving, enjoy a buffet at Scarpetta in Beverly Hills priced at $108 for adults and $38 for children. Plus for an additional $22 dollars you can also enjoy bottomless mimosas, bloody Marys, and bellinis. The menu will feature oysters and salmon alongside more traditional items like sausage stuffing and turkey. Most importantly, Scarpetta’s famous spaghetti will also be available. Open for lunch from Noon-5 PM.
STAYING IN
If you want to focus all your efforts on the turkey this year then let Little Dom’s be your little secret. This Los Feliz favorite has sides and desserts available to feed 6-8 guests with dishes such as roasted brussel sprouts with wild boar bacon ($39) and fennel sausage and mushroom stuffing ($42).
Lastly, add a little flair to your Thanksgiving table with a signature “Turkey Bread” that’s almost too beautiful to eat from Little Next Door ($18).
