One of the Best Breakfasts in Los Angeles is Hidden Inside a Car Museum

Museum Mile on Wilshire Boulevard might not be the place you think of when you think of the best breakfasts in Los Angeles, but the sidecar to the Petersen Automotive Museum is doing some pretty tasty things with A.M. eats – and they’re open through dinner. Here are the best things to get from the Meyers Manx Cafe Menu, that are truly one of a kind.

The Toasts

The Meyers Manx Cafe Menu is split among Breakfast, Brunch, Daytime Dining, and Drinks since there’s enough to cover an entire page for each category. Breakfast is available starting at 9 a.m. daily, and if you visit on the weekend, you can add on the Brunch menu from 9 a.m. all the way to 2:30 p.m.

Los Angeles is a Toast town as much as we’re a car town, so it’s only fitting to find five different options for Toast when it comes to Breakfast. While Avocado Toast is what you’re familiar with, Meyers Manx wants to expand what you think is possible and includes two delightful remixes in flavors like Tomato Ricotta and Honeycomb Toast with almond butter and natural honeycomb on top. The portions are large, and the price tags are small, which is a pretty sweet place to be.

The Eats

If you’re coming in with an empty tank, you might be leaning toward one of their larger plate brunch items. Personal favorites include the Cinnamon French Toast Sticks – with a portion a whole family can share and the Breakfast Tacos with smoked bacon, pork sausage, and guacamole.

You also can’t go wrong with the savory Chilaquiles with red salsa, roasted corn poblano, black beans, avocado, and cotija cheese. All the ingredients are farm fresh, and the colors make you want to just dive in.

The Drinks

The Meyers Manx Cafe does Coffee and Cocktails very well, and they want you to settle into those green leather chairs and make yourself comfortable with both.

Drip Coffee is roasted in-house, with endless upgrade options – from Cortados to Café au lait. During Brunch, the drinks menu expands to include options like Ube Cold Foam Matchas and Lattes, as well as a Strawberry Cold Foam Matcha. The matcha is Hikari Ceremonial Grade.

Daytime libations are also available during Brunch, like the classic Manx Bloody Mary and the Low Rye-Der with whiskey, lemon super juice, and muddled raspberry. Visit after 10 a.m. if you’ll be imbibing.

The Breakfast Burrito

This is a category all its own because it’s just so delicious! The Breakfast Burrito is made with an over-easy egg, crispy potatoes, a combination of jack and cheddar cheese, avocado, and avocado salsa. It’s served with a mango habanero salsa on the side. You can also make the tortilla gluten-free.

This dish is so popular that you can get it all day long, and it’s considered a main dish on the Meyers Manx Cafe menu during lunch. While all the elements sound pretty traditional, it’s done to perfection, and every bite is a blast of flavor in your mouth.

Who is Meyers Manx?

You might be surprised to know that Meyers Manx isn’t a person at all – it’s a car – or rather a Dune Buggy. It was designed by engineer and surfer Bruce F. Meyer in the 1960s for desert racing.

The Manx is back, though, and you can expect a fully electric version by 2024.

When to Visit the Meyers Manx Cafe

The Meyers Manx Cafe is open from 9 to 8 p.m. daily, with hours extended until 9 p.m. on October 25th. Brunch runs from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. on weekends. Visit from Monday to Friday from 4 to 6 p.m. to take advantage of Happy Hour Specials. The Meyers Manx Cafe is located at 6060 Wilshire Boulevard next to the Petersen Automotive Museum, but it has its own entrance off Fairfax Avenue.
