The Best Protein Style Burger in Los Angeles!
I’m on a no-sugar kick lately and have been using my Village Bakery Burger Press to death!!! So now that I feel a little more secure in my new (albeit probably temporary) lifestyle, it’s time to get out and explore the best protein style burger in Los Angeles!!!
Mooyah Lifestyle Burgers
First I headed out to Monrovia to try one of five brand new Mooyah Lifestyle burgers. Generally known for freshly baked buns and made to order cut fries, I steered clear off the bread and focused my attention on The Keto; The Paleo; and The Whole 30 instead.
Wrapped in lettuce in lieu of a bun, these burgers are surprisingly different variations of a quarter pound of meat! The Keto is made with Turkey and features cheddar, mayo, avocado, tomatoes, and jalapeños. I don’t have to tell you this one is melt in your mouth delicious. It’s one of the best protein style burger options on this list!
The Paleo is TWO PATTIES of Certified Angus Beef topped with avocado, tomatoes, pickles, onions, and bacon! I felt pretty carnivourous eating this bad boy!
Lastly, The Whole 30 keeps it a little lighter, with avocado, tomatoes, onions, and Cholula sauce to keep it interesting.
So which was my favorite?? The Keto!!
But maybe you should split the difference and go with The Paleo and pair it with an Oreo Little Moo and some Cinnamon Sweet Potato Fries
You could also try one of the other two Lifestyle Burgers on the menu, like The Vegetarian and The Gluten Free, which both include all that
Mooyah has several franchise locations in California, and with burgers under $7.99, there’s guaranteed one to fit your lifestyle.
Tokyo Hamburg
Next, I’m in Koreatown for a brilliant take on the Japanese “Wafu” Burger at Tokyo Hamburg! This Korean hamburger spot lets you grill your own mass of meat on a heated stone at the table and then enjoy slices of protein style Tokyo Hamburgs!
Available in Original, or with eggs and cheese, the meat is creamy and so delicious that you won’t even miss the bun ($13.99).
If your carnivorous side is really calling, add in a Rib Eye Steak Katsu which you also cook on your table with the sweet spot for flipping being 9 seconds ($16.99)
If perhaps you’re enjoying your burger protein style so you can save your calories for a yeast that’s a little more enjoyable, Tokyo Hamburg offers ALL DAY HAPPY HOUR with specials like $4 Kirin Drafts and $2 Hot Sake after 5 PM.
In-N-Out
Lastly, I’m not sure any list be complete without this protein style staple of Los Angeles. In
At less than $5 it’s hard to refuse adding that second patty! Your new healthy, self can handle it!!
