Total Eclipse of the Snack
On Monday August 21st 2017 the United States will experience a total solar eclipse that will darken the skies all the way from Oregon to South Carolina. Although Los Angeles is not on the “path of totality”, we will experience a partial eclipse that will peak just before 10:22 AM. I’ll leave you to check the other blogs for tips on safe viewing (btw. sunglasses…not safe) and just focus on what’s really important…
As the moon travels in front of the sun what food will be traveling into your mouth!
Sprinkles Cupcakes
Hard not to be tempted by what’s being called their “deepest, darkest, and most chocolatey cake”. The Black Velvet cupcake will be available from August 19th-21st.
Krispy Kreme
Astonishingly for the first-time in their 80 year history, the iconic Original Glazed donut is turning chocolate. The donut will be available during evening Hot Light™ hours Saturday and Sunday, August 19th and 20th as well as on Monday August 21st.
C.O.D. Seafood
While I’m not advocating that you start drinking at 10 AM, just keep those paper glasses on and keep the party going until you get to C.O.D. Seafood on West 3rd at a more reasonable hour.
Their color-changing dark blue Technicolor Dream cocktail made with Tito’s Vodka, simple syrup and Butterfly Pea flower syrup, changes to a bright lilac before your eyes after adding their own version of the sun, a dash of lemon juice.
Visit during Happy Hour from 5-7 PM and get ready to experience some out of this world pricing. $8 Craft Cocktails, $5 well cocktails and beer, $6 wines, and a food menu where nothing is over $10!
Pinkberry
While it’s not a new flavor, there’s nothing sweeter than a deal. Now through August 21st get $1 off a take home flavor carton.
