Your Ultimate Staycation at The Four Seasons Westlake Village: Where Wellness Meets Family
A Staycation at the Four Seasons Westlake Village can be summed up with a mug. Of course, this isn’t just any mug. It’s an Ember Mug that NEVER lets your beverage get cold. This is just one of the myriad of amenities that let you know you’re in a place unlike what you’re used to; a hotel that anticipates your every need – even the ones you don’t know you have.
Here’s everything you need to know to make the most of even just a 24-hour stay at The Four Seasons Westlake Village, which is a combination adult wellness retreat and family fun zone featuring top-notch dining and so much to do that you never have to leave the resort.

Where is Westlake Village?
Westlake Village is located in the foothills of the Santa Monica Mountains, just 20 minutes north of Malibu, which is perfect if you want to explore both the beaches and the valleys. You’ll find you are just a short drive away from hiking trails, museums like The Getty Villa, and some of the best beaches in the world.
The Four Seasons Westlake Village is a 12-acre property that feels tucked away from the city that surrounds it. Once you’re at their idyllic location, you’ll find an oasis at every corner, from the Spa at the Center for Health and Wellbeing to the Indoor Family Pool, to the Outdoor Waterfall. There’s even a Meditation Space and Endless Gardens to explore. Best of all, everything feels accessible.
Accommodations
A staycation at the Four Seasons Westlake begins with accommodations that epitomize glamour. This AAA Five Diamond luxury hotel has a variety of Guest Rooms and Suites that begin at 450 square feet and, from the start, can accommodate 3 adults or 2 adults and one child.
All of the rooms include luscious Down Bedding to lose yourself in and In-Room Coffee and Tea when you need to wake yourself up again. Also, don’t forget about those Ember Mugs for use during your stay while enjoying your Nespresso Coffee and Tea Forte Teas.
Keep yourself busy in your room with Entertainment Options like an LCD Television with Chromecast, Bose Speakers, and Daily Newspaper Delivery.
The marble bathrooms are equipped with Natura Bisse products and a deep soaking tub for pure relaxation.
You’ll also find Thick Robes and Slippers, even for the youngest guests.
If you’re traveling with a larger group, there are a range of Suites that fit 5 adults, or 2 adults and 3 children, and move up from that. The pull-out sofa bed is made up with the same delicious bedding as the primary bed and a rollaway or crib are available if needed.
Dining Options
The Four Seasons Westlake Village has multiple dining options so you never have to feel like you’re repeating the same menu.
Coin & Candor
This California brasserie has been hailed by the Los Angeles Times as “the best in the Southland” and Chef Jesus Medina is a triumph. All the dishes tell a unique story that often includes the Chefs own personal history but are created with California ingredients and sensibilities that you’ll only find here.
Coin & Candor is open daily for All-Day Dining and I recommend it for Brunch or Dinner. You can also get it delivered to your room. Dishes are seasonal so depending on the time of year you visit it will be something fresh and new.
ONYX
When you’re ready for a night out, head to ONYX which is the hotel’s modern Japanese restaurant. It’s only open in the evening for three nights a week, so if you happen to be there Thursday to Saturday night you owe it to yourself to make a reservation.
ONYX is also helmed by Chef Jesus Medina so besides Nigiri Sushi and Sashimi, there is a wide variety of less traditional Warm Dishes that are really impressive.
Begin with a dish of Edamame while you look over the menu. There is lots to choose from beginning with the Sushi Bar, which includes Hand Rolls and even Plant Based Sushi.
I recommend a Chef’s Choice of Nigiri or Sashimi if you can’t decide.
If you know what you like, the fish is presented either in portions of 1 Nigiri or 2 Sashimi. The Otoro Bluefin tuna is one of the purest ways to enjoy your Sashimi or go with the Uni topped with caviar for something more decadent.
Chasu Pork Nigiri is a wonderful option if you don’t like raw fish. The braised pork belly is served thinly sliced over warm rice with Meyer lemon and habanero.
The Small Plates section is where you’ll find some of the signature dishes. The Rice Chicharron with big-eye tuna, avocado, and Osetra caviar is one of the most popular plates as well as the Cured Yellowtail.
My personal favorite was the Milk Bread Toast with tuna, uni, and chives.
If you’re still hungry, the menu has a Hot Plates section featuring a Grilled Kama yellowtail collar, a Wagyu Striploin, and a Chicken Katsu Sandwich.
While there is a Kids’ Menu, you might find that your children love an Avocado Roll or Cucumber Hand Roll instead of Mac n Cheese. Chicken Katsu with white rice and broccolini is also a great choice that parents might enjoy stealing bites from as well.
For Dessert, the Chokkoretto silk chocolate custard with whiskey caramel is very popular, or the Sakura, which is Japanese Cherry Blossom Ice Cream.
There are three Signature Cocktails on the menu to choose from, but you can never go wrong with a Lychee Martini.
Prosperous Penny
Continuing your weekend night out, stop by the Prosperous Penny for a nightcap. It’s open Friday and Saturday nights from 6 p.m. to 1 a.m.
Stir
The next morning, stop by Stir Coffee Shop if you’re looking for a quick Grab and Go Breakfast or Stumptown Coffee. There are also Sandwiches and Ice Cream.
Stir is open daily from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Resort Entertainment
Family-Friendly Entertainment
Downstairs from the Lobby restaurants is a world of entertainment for everyone. There are Pool Tables set up in the main room, and it’s ready to play, no need to find someone to unlock anything for you.
Next, you’ll find the Teens Lounge which has Arcade Games, TVs, Pool Tables, Ping Pong, and more. Best of all you don’t need to be a teen to enjoy it, it’s accessible with your room key.
The Kids Room is perfect for your little ones five and under and feels like a kindergarten classroom. There are lots of Toys for them to choose from, including Art Supplies, Slides, and a Jumbo Connect Four.
If the weather is right, take your fun outside to the Activity Lawn and Rose Garden which is set up with Outdoor Games as well.
Pool & Fitness Center
While the Main Pool is nearing its renovation completion, families can enjoy the Indoor Pool which includes a large Hot Tub and also has access to a separate outdoor area with Lounge Chairs so you can soak up the sun.
The indoor pool is located right off the 24-Hour Fitness Center.
Adults can currently enjoy the Serenity Pool off the spa where you can Rent a cabana and enjoy a menu of healthy lunch offerings.
Spa & Salon
When you do a staycation at the Four Seasons Westlake Village, you also have access to their Oh La La Spa from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily.
The hotel is home to the Center for Health & Wellbeing, which hosted the television show Extreme Makeover Weightloss Edition years back.
They are leaders in the industry and the 40,000 square-foot space includes a Meditation Room and Living Room area before you even enter the Spa which you can visit when the mood strikes you. There are also daily Wellness Activities such as Complimentary Fitness Classes included in your stay.
Rhythm & Hair is open for Hair, Beauty, and Barber and even the locals of Westlake Village come here for beautification.
The Spa offers 128 treatments like the Natura Bisse C +C Facial and various Massage options. Even without a treatment, you have access to a Tranquil Lounge Space with Complimentary Drinks and Snacks, plus a Jacuzzi, Steam Room, and Dry Sauna.
Once you cross the red bridge, you’ll enter the Co-Ed Lounge Space facing the pool that offers even more Food and Drink amenities.
