Membership is $165 a year; Six-Course Dinners are $50 plus tax and tip; Brunches are $35 plus tax and tip. 
What is a typical Tasting Collective experience?
As a new member of Tasting Collective, I was fortunate enough to attend the inaugural Los Angeles event with Executive Chef/Owner David Schlosser at his Michelin-starred restaurant Shibumi.
This was a six-course Kappo-Style (means cut and cook) Japanese dinner where the chef guided us through each course offering his inspiration and interpretation of the dishes.
The menu included Shibumi favorites like Grilled Berkshire Pork in Koji with shaved leek and pickled daikon radish; Sashimi of the Moment which was a wild rock cod from Santa Barbara; as well as new items the restaurant is trying like Raw Persimmon with roasted chestnuts and whipped tofu and a Chilled Kabocha Soup with fresh yuba and puffed rice.

I received an education like no other on the importance of Dashi and due to the intimacy of the dinner, I feel I really got to know what Shibumi is about.
