The founders, Pam Weekes and Connie McDonald were both triathlon competitors when they baked up their Chocolate Chip Walnut Cookie as a power snack. Something about that always makes me feel like it’s healthy-ish, even though the primary ingredients in this 6-ounce bite from heaven are butter and sugar.

What Makes a Levain Cookie Special?

Levain Bakery has nailed the crunchy on the outside, melt-in-your-mouth middle, and it’s probably among the densest cookies being baked. The chip-to-dough ratio is insane, and you’ll never not have a good bite. And can we talk about size? Six ounces is almost too much for one person…almost :).
