Timmy Nolan’s is Terrific!

I am not a sports fan…but when promised beers and pub-food I can be easily persuaded to the dark side!

Timmy Nolan’s Tavern in Toluca Lake (wow that’a mouth-full) offers a fun Irish atmosphere in which to enjoy games and brews on a Sunday afternoon.

I wouldn’t say I felt I fit in amongst these red-blooded sports fans, but it’s a better crowd than you might find at Hooters or Big Wangs.

Plus they have several booths with private TV’s—so you can hide in there and turn on Sex and the City instead. Actually I dare anyone to do that and please write me to let me know how it turns out!!

The menu offers many beers on tap as well as blends with Guinness as the base. I had a Bumblebee to start…which didn’t really taste like I thought it would. It was sort of like a bitter black and tan, so I followed it up with a real Black and Tan—much better!

I couldn’t resist ordering a Reuban for lunch and although it was a mess to eat, it was completely worth getting dirty for!
