Where to Say I love you for Less for Valentine’s Day in Los Angeles
Happy Valentine’s Day, Los Angeles! February 14th is just around the corner, and whether or not you’re tethered to another human on this Hallmark holiday, you should make it your business to say I love you for less, and save some money for the rest of your relationship.
Call me unromantic, but overpaying on a day to celebrate the purity of love is just plain heartless! Everything you’ll find here is $100 per person or less, with some being $100 total! There are 18 restaurants for you to chew on from this list, or if you’re short on time, check out the abridged version on LAist.

Malibu Wines + Beer Garden (West Hills)
Love shouldn’t be limited to just one day, and Malibu Wines & Beer Garden wants you to celebrate all week. Visit anytime from February 10th to the 17th for a Two-Flight Wine Tasting of Saddlerock Wines and a Curated Cheese Board. You can also use your tasting note paper to write sweet nothings to your partner.
The Price of Love: The price is $65 per couple for a 2.5-hour table reservation from February 10th to the 17th. Hours are Noon to 6 p.m. except weekends when they stay open until 9 p.m. Book using Tock.
Written Hand (The Kimpton Everly Hollywood)
It’s Bivalve-ntine’s Day at Written Hand, where they’re toasting the day of Love with a prix fixe that’s all about the aphrodisiac.
The meal begins with Complimentary Oysters, shucked tableside for your enjoyment to be paired with a Briny Freezer Martini ($15). There’s also Bread from Bub & Grandmas, Ama Ebi Kauai Prawns, Squash Blossoms, and a shared entree with either a Ribeye Cap Blue-Fin Tuna Collar or Ike Jime Rockfish.
The Price of Love: The cost is $75 per person for food. Reservations can be made on OpenTable beginning at 5 p.m.
Pasta Sisters (Culver City)
Keep it a bit more casual at Pasta Sisters, where you can enjoy glasses of Wine ($12) while nibbling Heart-Shaped Ravioli either in the restaurant or at your own home.
Handmade Heart-Shaped Ravioli filled with porcini mushroom and ricotta cheese is available for dine-in ($21) or as a Ravioli Pasta Kit To Go, which feeds two and includes edible flowers ($40). The restaurant will also be offering 10% off select bottles of Italian Pinot Noir if you’re purchasing the kit.
The Price of Love: A night of pasta and wine for two will cost less than $100. There are no reservations, but you can place an order online if you’re choosing to enjoy these culinary creations in your own kitchen.
The Exchange (Downtown Los Angeles – The Freehand Hotel)
If you’re looking for a meal that really has heart, consider one where 15% of your romantic night out will go to benefit those affected by the L.A. Wildfires. The Exchange at Freehand L.A. is doing an I Heart LA Coast-to-Coast menu in Downtown Los Angeles along with their partner restaurant in NYC by “marrying” the menus of their head Chefs Nartita Santos (L.A.) and Chef Felipe Donnelly (NYC).
The 3-course prix fixe includes items like Oysters with Hibiscus Leche de Tigre, Kampachi Aquachile with Pan-Seared Black Coho Salmon, and Chocolate Tres Leches for dessert.
The Price of Love: This prix fixe is $70 per person, with 15% of the proceeds going toward the LA Regional Food Bank. Make your reservations on OpenTable for February 13th and 14th, beginning at 6 p.m.
The Velvet Martini Lounge (Studio City)
If you love crooners and cozy corners, The Velvet Martini Lounge is about to become your new favorite secret speakeasy. It’s located above the Italian restaurant Vitellos and features live music, dim lighting, and no windows – kinda like Las Vegas. Luckily, the two-hour minimum keeps you from camping out all night.
The food menu is minimal, with throwback items like a TV Dinner Tray, but I recommend focusing on Cocktails and conversation instead. Try a Jazzerac made with Hennessey, Luxardo Amaretto, bitters, and finished with an absinthe mist.
The Price of Love: Cocktail prices hover around $18, and there is no cover for live music. Reservations can be made on OpenTable beginning at 5 p.m.
Barra Santos (Cypress Park)
Barra Santos likes to host “a party every night,” and Valentine’s Day is no exception. This neighborhood gem from co-owner Mike Santos and Chef Melissa López offers Portuguese Snacks to pair with pours of Madeira Wine alongside larger dishes like Piri Piri Chicken ($22). The specials for VDay are still forthcoming, but you can pair a bottle of Barra Santos Vinho ($40) with the Lisbon Special ($31) trio of snack plates and have yourself a very fun and wallet-friendly kind of noite.
The Price of Love: As noted above, the price of love is up to you, with Wines by the Glass beginning at $11 for all the colors of the rainbow and Large Entrées hovering between twenty and thirty dollars. Reservations are now open for Valentine’s Day, but don’t delay; this intimate spot books up quickly.

Hollywood’s rooftop French Riviera, Bar Lis, has two options that will take your breath away.

The Bar Lis Canapé Package features a bottle of GH Mumm Brut Champagne and a Canapé Platter with Tuna and Radish Tartare and Duck Yuzu Kosho Tacos. The price is $150 per couple, and that includes hypnotic music and views for days.
The Price of Love: It’s $78 Per Person for the Sunset Hour Prix Fixe Dinner or $150 per couple for the Bar Lis Canapé Package. Reservations are available from 5 to 8:45 p.m. and can be made at reservations@barlisla.com for Thursday, February 13th to Saturday, February 15th.
Redbird (Little Tokyo)
Enjoy Valentine’s Day in the church of Love at a fraction of the cost when you choose to dine in the Garden Bar area of Redbird by Chef Neal Frasier. Redbird is located in the former Cathedral of St. Vibiana, specifically the Cardinal’s house (hence the red bird), and for Valentine’s Day, they are serving a special 3-course prix-fixe menu for $150 a person in the main dining room. While that might sound enticing, you can keep the costs down and still enjoy a selection from the prix fixe menu when you choose à la carte pricing in the Redbird Garden Bar.
A perfect night out for two might include Humboldt Fog on Griddled Sourdough ($16), Profiteroles with Chicken Liver Parfait ($16), Chawanmushi with Kaluga Caviar and Uni ($38), and two glasses of Domaine des Ronces Bubbles ($17 each).
The Price of Love: Since the menu is available à la carte, you can spend as little or as much as you’d like. Walk-ins are welcome beginning at 5 p.m. on February 14th and 15th.

Dessert is a Red Velvet Cake with strawberry crema and spumoni ice cream.
The specialty cocktail for the night is an Amor de Los Angeles, made with tequila, pama liqueur, and topped off with pomegranate seeds and a black salt rim ($16).

KA’TEEN (Hollywood)
Saying I love you for less means saying yes to a well-priced prix fixe — or the option to order off the regular menu. KA’TEEN’s Valentine’s dinner from Chef Wes Avila offers specialty dishes like the seafood-based Siete Mares Calo, Carne Asada with roasted leeks, and a Crème Caramel dessert. A night in this Tulum-chic restaurant also comes with a live house DJ to keep your love en fuego.

The Georgian (Santa Monica)
Recreate history inside a piece of history when you choose The Georgian as your spot for romance. This recently-remodeled Art Deco hotel first opened in 1933, and for Valentine’s Day, they are offering specials like Spaghetti and Meatballs for Two served Lady & The Tramp Style ($68) and Chilled Snow Crab Craws ($36) in both their sunny Sirena dining space and the dimly lit The Georgian Room.

The 1917 at San Antonio Winery Los Angeles (Downtown Los Angeles)
Make it a meal to remember at the oldest winery in Los Angeles: The San Antonio Winery. Blame it on LA Cha Cha Cha when you and your lover lose control over the menu at this Mexico City hotspot. The ambiance at this rooftop restaurant is second to none, and with no specialty menu for Valentine’s Day, it’s an ideal spot to spice things up without any upcharge. Menu musts include the Tostada Terraza with bluefin tuna ($22) and the Carne Asada Skirt Steak, which can be easily shared ($58).
If you visit during Happy Hour, which is from Noon to 4 p.m. on Valentine’s Day, you can enjoy a lower price on Guacamole ($9), Cocktails beginning at $10, and a genuinely delicious Fideo pasta, which is only on the Happy Hour menu ($16).
The Price of Love: The cost is up to you as there is no specialty menu. Reserve on OpenTable beginning at Noon for daytime dining and 5 p.m. for the evening.
