March in Los Angeles is a time to savor the sweet end to winter, with celebratory days filled with Oreos, Pi, and St. Patty’s Day Parties. Remember the ladies all month long, including a special shout-out on International Women’s Day, plus find out where to eat like a celebrity for Oscars Sunday.

One Night Only Chef Collaborations
When Holy Basil announced they were opening a location in Atwater Village, I counted down the days until I could get there – and now it’s become almost a weekly ritual. The flavor combinations are out of this world! It appears that Chef de Cuisine Klementine Song of Tsubaki had a similar enlightenment experience after tasting the perfectly tender Moo Krob meat nestled beneath an optimally perfect crispy skin. Is your mouth watering yet? Well, it’s about to be!
On Tuesday, March 18th, Japanese izakaya restaurant Tsubaki will collaborate with Thai restaurant Holy Basil from Chef Wedchayan “Deau” Arpapornnopparatare on a marriage of flavors that have yet to be tasted in Los Angeles. The set menu features ten dishes like a Santen Mori blue prawn aguachile, a Bittermelon Soup with Clams, and a Moo Krob Yakisoba. The rest you’ll just have to experience in person.
Reservations are now live on Resy, so don’t delay. This once-in-a-lifetime experience is filling up fast. The cost is $138 per person, and the meal takes place at Tsubaki in Echo Park.
Party with Pancakes & Mardi Gras
National Pancake Day was created by the IHOP brand and is traditionally celebrated on March 4th, corresponding with Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday. This year, though, IHOP is working on breaking the Guinness World Record for most pancakes eaten in one day with a special event in Santa Monica that’s totally FREE!
Head to the Santa Monica Pier on March 1st from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. to help make history and enjoy FREE Pancakes as they aim to serve 20K in one day!

March 1st is also the annual Mardi Gras Celebration at Harold & Belle’s in Crenshaw. Get more details on this all-day party in this post. The Original Farmer’s Market will also celebrate March 1st, 2nd, and 4th, including their Mutti Gras Parade.

Now, on to Pancakes! On March 4th, IHOP has freebies stacked from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Visit your local IHOP for a FREE short stack of Classic Buttermilk Pancakes. This event also helps raise money for charities.
Eat like a Celebrity on Oscar Sunday
The 97th Annual Academy Awards take place on March 2nd, and there’s no better way to celebrate than to Eat like a Celebrity all day long – at some of the hottest celeb-owned restaurants in Los Angeles. The Oscars take place at 4 p.m. at the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood and will be televised on ABC.
If you’re nearby, check out the Best Picture Inspired Cocktails available at the Loews Hollywood H2 Kitchen & Bar space just down the street from the ceremony. Sips like Defying Gravity pink cocktail in honor of Wicked and The Troubadour Coconut rum cocktail from A Complete Unknown will be available.

Commemorate Women’s History Month with RE: Her
Regarding Her (RE: Her) is in its 5th year, and the RE: Her Festival is only getting stronger – just like the fems in this world. What was once a 10-day celebration now spans the entire month of March. This year feels even more essential as fundraising will support LA wildfire recovery efforts and combat the effects of reduced DEI program funding. Below are just a few of the many events you can participate in, plus there are Chef Collab Dinners all month to get excited about. Enjoy the full lineup here, as well as event specifics.
- Manila Sound: Women Rising at Benny Boy Brewing in Lincoln Heights from 4 to 9 p.m. on March 2nd. Entry to this Filipino-American disco is FREE, 21-and-over only.
- Italian Women’s Day- La Festa Della Donna, presented by San Pellegrino in partnership with Smorgasburg x Regarding Her on March 9th at ROW DTLA. Entry is FREE, but food is not.
- Moo’Amore: From Our Kitchens, With Love A Women’s Month Brunch Celebration on March 16th at Amiga Amore in Highland Park beginning at 10 a.m. Reserve here.
- One-Night-Only Pizza Night at Quarter Sheets in Echo Park with pastry-chef Hannah Ziskin and guest Nancy Silverton of the Mozza empire. The event is on March 26th, and reservation details will be announced soon.

Now for Kids Stuff
The Pasadena Playhouse is finishing its run of Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile at The Colony Theater in Burbank on March 16th. Don’t miss your chance to experience live theater with your little ones, as the show is only an hour and geared toward ages as young as five. It’s also the only matinee that begins as early as 10 a.m. The cast is a stellar mix of Broadway and TV stars. Purchase tickets here for $35.

Make March Matter by visiting a slew of local restaurants giving a portion of their sales back to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. Everyone from Alfred Coffee to Eataly is in on the action. The complete list is here.
Enjoy National Oreo Day
March 6th is the sweetest day of the year because it celebrates America’s (and my) favorite store-bought cookie. Visit 6 Best Limited Edition Oreo Flavors to learn about the 2025 Oreo flavors of the year that are worth your money.

Celebrate International Women’s Day
International Women’s Day on March 8th is a day to focus on the achievements of women throughout the world. In our own culinary microcosm, you can celebrate by eating out at the restaurants of some of the Best Female Chefs in Los Angeles.
On Sunday, March 9th, the Cannabis dispensary The Artist Tree will host its annual High Tea at The Studio Lounge in West Hollywood from noon to 3 p.m. The High Tea honors International Women’s Month and includes special guests like Alyse Whitney, who will be crafting a Korean spin on this year’s event. Tickets include infused teas and treats for $54.98.

Also, see the above section on Re: Her for even more ideas.
Lastly, you can fill your morning cup with some java that gives back. Klatch Coffee’s new release is Mujeres de Cafe, which donates 20% to Grounds for Health for every bag purchased until the end of March. Grounds for Health works to treat and prevent cervical cancer in coffee-producing regions. This rich coffee was produced in Lucia Ortiz’s Finca Las Mercedes in El Salvador and has notes of molasses, cherry, and Gala apple.

Try a New Restaurant
Enjoy a lunchtime preview of firstborn by Anthony Wang in Chinatown on March 8th and 9th. It’s meant to coincide with the L.A. Chinatown Firecracker Race. Chef Wang is classically trained in French cooking techniques and this menu is reflective of his Chinese-American upbringing and travels in Shanghai and Bejing. Doors open at 11 a.m. at 978 N Broadway, Los Angeles, California 90012.
Drink for a Cause
The early California wildfires of 2025 might be extinguished, but the rebuilding is far from over. Make your next drink more meaningful at Wally’s Santa Monica on March 8th during the Pouring for a Purpose: California Wineries Silent Auction + Tasting for Fire Relief Event. 20% of ticket sales will benefit the California Fire Foundation, along with 100% of the silent auction proceeds. Expect exotic wine pours, limited edition bottles, and heavily passed appetizers and charcuterie spreads. The event is from 4 to 7 p.m., and the cost is $500 a ticket.
Enjoy Endless Possibilities on Pi Day
Does the number 3.14 mean anything to you? Then, you should pat yourself on the back on Friday, March 14th, for paying attention in school. I like to honor Pi Day with a slice of the Best Pies in Los Angeles.
Blaze Pizza will be offering its annual dine-in special, an 11-inch Pizza for just $3.14 at all of its locations – but this year, it’s a BOGO…so you need to pay full price for the first one.

Enjoy a Holi-Day
Holi, or the Indian Festival of Color, falls on March 14th. This day marks the beginning of spring and the triumph of good over evil. Enjoy a Holi Festival in Redondo Beach as early as March 8th. The event begins at 11:30 a.m., and your ticket price includes colors to throw.
Arthafest takes place on Sunday, March 9th in Burbank and features a Sound Bath, DJ Music, and Colors across your Chic White Outfit. This Ibiza meets Holi event is 21 and over only.

Party down on St. Paddy’s Day
St. Patrick’s Day falls on Monday, March 17th, so you’ll no doubt be celebrating over the weekend before or perhaps even until you roll into work that morning.
Events to consider include a St. Patrick’s Day Bar Crawl with access to 10 different venues in DTLA beginning Saturday, March 15th at 1 p.m.
There’s also Tom Bergin‘s on Fairfax, which has been open for 99 years in Los Angeles! Stay tuned for their event news.
Ring in the First Day of Spring
March 20th marks the first day of spring, and there’s nothing trendier lately than checking out some wildflowers. While no Superbloom is expected for 2025, local bloom spots include Point Dume in Malibu and Chino Hills State Park in Chino Hills. Venture out a little further to the Antelope Valley California Poppy Reserve, which includes a live cam on their website, so you don’t waste your gas if things aren’t blooming yet. I’ve also seen some nice spots near the 134 West and the 2 Freeway from my car window – no stopping necessary.

Toast to National Cocktail Day
National Cocktail Day falls on Monday, March 24th, which may or may not be the perfect day to get a crisp cocktail. Check out Death & Co in the Arts District to sample some of the best cocktails in the country. Reservations can be made on Tock, and doors open at 6 p.m.

Take Yourself Out to the Ball Game
MLB Opening Day falls on March 18th/19th for the Dodgers in Tokyo, where they play the Cubs. The next chance to see them in Los Angeles will be when they play the Los Angeles Angels at Dodgers Stadium on Sunday, March 23rd. Get your tickets here beginning at $40.

Get Silly on National Something on a Stick Day
March 28th is National Something on a Stick Day, a foodie holiday so ridiculous that it just needs to be mentioned. Get happy with Corndogs, Popsicles, and more adult items like Kabobs. Stay tuned for deals that will most likely pop up in mid-March.

Looking Ahead
Book your Bowl! The Hollywood Bowl has released its calendar for 2025-2026, and shows begin as early as April 1st, with a We Love LA concert. Get discounted tickets to Opening Night on June 7th here.
