Your Weekend Guide
This weekend is PACKED with food and fun for all ages (especially adults). The hardest part will be choosing what to do, but luckily I’ve narrowed down the list for you! Here’s your weekend guide for Los Angeles!
Friday
Get your weekend started early! Maple at Descanso Gardens in La Cañada Flintridge is now open for lunch! Best of all they are offering a $17 two-course lunch to commemorate; available Thursdays and Fridays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
When you’re done with lunch and the gardens, head over to John Sparr Tavern, also in Glendale, for their Happy Hour that kicks off at 4 PM! Well Drinks are $5 and wine and cocktails are $3 off! Be sure to try The Sparr Cocktail made with bourbon, rye, Bénédictine cherry heering, and bitters ($8). Bar food favorites like Deviled Eggs, French Fries, and Onion Rings are also $4 or less!
Lastly cap your night off with live music, botanical-inspired cocktails, food trucks, and SCIENCE during Summer Nights in the Garden at the Natural History Museum. The event is FREE (minus the food and drinks) and you can bring the kids to this one!
Saturday
Eat like it’s your job, but leave the kids at home, for the 7th Annual Los Angeles Food and Wine Festival. VIP Tickets ($225) are still available for The Lexus Grand Tasting on both Saturday and Sunday and while that might seem a little steep, consider you get to sample over 200 wines and 25 celebrity chefs for the cost of one dinner and without the hassle of a reservation. This year’s location is the Barker Hanger in Santa Monica
Sunday
They don’t call it Sunday Funday for nothing! If you still feel like eating outdoors with strangers but don’t want to spend more than $100, then head to Smorgasburg LA’s FREE weekend food fest. Taking place every Sunday at ROW DTLA from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., it’s a great chance to sample over 45 hip and trendy food vendors; many of which are running test kitchen items for your approval! This will also be one of the last weekends to take a stroll down Ice-Cream Alley and taste the flavors of pop-up vendors like Nancy Silverton’s Nancy Fancy.
Wanna spend even more time outside?? Treat your fur-baby to a little fun at some of the coolest dog-friendly beaches in Los Angeles!
